Goddess of the Sea by P.C. Cast
Did not finish book. Stopped at 10%.
Badly and annoying written. Very boring. I got to 36 pages and skimmed until the inevitable plane crash happened and she saw a mermaid then I was so over it.
From the first page it's weird, the main character is home alone and starts talking out loud to herself ... We didn't need that. I can't even pretend to want to go into more detail, the character is boring and her life sounds boring but it's so badly written I can't see the book improving at all.
I'd be too embarrassed to give this book to a friend or put it on a bookswap shelf.
The author's newer books are much better, I liked the Partholon and Tales of a New World series' but now I've read this I realise how much recycling of themes and plots there are which is disappointing.
