Middle grade horror spooky fiction about a girl, Quinn, who is traveling with her best friend’s family to their new home. Spoiler: Quinn is still dealing with the ongoing cold case that Her younger sister was abducted after school one day, and feels it is her fault.
A weird light Flashes and now the family make it to a weird inn and stay the night. Family members disappear and the girls are left behind trying to find out what is going on and how to reunite. I saw most of the ending coming, but not the specific open ended ness of the last couple pages or will she/won’t she?
Kinda dark topics for middle grade (while also being hot too dark) for a short book that doesn’t dive the deepest into really delving into: missing person, grief, learning disabilities, after life, etc.
