What a fantastic way to kick off a series. In a stunning fantasy world where jade bestows incredible power, the Kaul family fights for the pride and honor of their clan.
I was immediately drawn into the intensity and immediacy of the writing. This book is action packed!
The Kaul family is so interesting to follow, from the aging elderly Torch of Kekon, to the Pillar and Horn of No Peak, to the prodigal daughter returning from abroad, to the adopted son of mixed and troubled parentage. I became so invested in their lives and their family bond.
I honestly can’t think of anything I would change about this story. It’s riveting and fun and I was glad to go along for the ride.
