Murakami never fails to astound and baffle the senses. Watanabe is a sex craved BEAST my Godddd. And the love triangle with naoko and midori?! And naoko died at the end 😭😭.. such a  rollercoaster of a book tbh. Hammad is traumatized. Reiko was loveable though, but she got molested by a literal 13 year old child?!?! Teleiophilia and hardcore lesbianism fr. End pe watanabe fucks reiko too. Murakami is a raunchy piece of work innit. The lewd scenes at random intervals caught me off guard sometimes. I classify this novel as literary smut! Loved every inch of it.
But the overall complexity of all the characters in the novel, even the background ones felt so deep and real. Guess that's murakami's magic for you. Even midori's dead beat sick dad felt real(and graphic)
