Honestly Stars of Chaos is a strong contender for my second favorite danmei ever (2ha my beloved) and everything I love best about it is on full display in this book. It's absolutely breakneck without feeling forced, and watching Gu Yun and Chang Geng tear around the country being competent is so gratifying. Also, we love to see actual relationship progress about things like "my partner keeps lying to me about being severely injured", Chang Geng and Gu Yun end this volume in a weirdly good place given that they're on opposite borders leading armies at the time . Also, love getting to see Chang Geng's twisty little brain churning through problems, he is a treasure, I would let him take over the American government, maybe we could get some trains out of it.
Graphic: Self harm, Violence, Fire/Fire injury, and War
Moderate: Chronic illness, Xenophobia, Cannibalism, and Colonisation
Look, as far as chronic/terminal illness goes, the wu'ergu isn't exactly a cancer diagnosis, but everyone who knows about it and ESPECIALLY Chen Qingxu is explicitly operating on the understanding that Chang Geng has already wildly outlived his projected lifespan and sanity and will eventually probably succumb to the wu'ergu effects. These effects are understood to lead to the wu'ergu carrier dying. Interpret that however you like.
