When Death Takes Something from You Give It Back: Carl's Book by Naja Marie Aidt

4.0

Death is a mess, it's different for everybody.
The autor writes this book in many ways, with several types of font and in my point of view this is just to show the different types of grief and different thoughts she had.
It's also a process. You can see the process of grieving in the book. How you, piece by piece, discover the whole story of Carl's death, like the author is discovering. Like she is slowly realizing that he is not coming back.
It's hard because you know it's a true story, it's hard if you ever felt what she is feeling. And it's also hard if you can relate in different aspects besides the lost: for exemple, I am also reading Walt Whitman poems, just like Carl read once. It gives you a chance to connect, in a good and bad way.
It's all about death and somehow makes you feel all this energy, makes you feel alive.
