I'm Glad My Mom Died
by Jennette McCurdy
challenging

funny
reflective
sad
fast-paced
It's very rare that I read a book while it's still surrounded by hype but I quite enjoyed knowing what everyone was talking about for once. I thought this was really good. I didn't know anything about Jennette McCurdy because I never watched Nickelodeon but I really felt like I understood her by the end of this, especially because I listened to the audiobook which she narrates herself. She explores such difficult topics with unflinching honesty and it's certainly uncomfortable reading at times but it's so well done.
