The Princess Who Saved Herself by Greg Pak

4.0

The best solutions are non-violent, as the Princess in this story demonstrates. Instead of beating up the dragon that attacks her, she talks to it. Instead of fighting with the bee that attacks her, she invites it over for tea.

It is good to have strong princesses as examples to little girls, as well as big girls.

Fun story, and you should seek out the original song that this was based on by Jonathan Coulton. Catchy lyrics, and fun to listen to.

Wonderful illustrations, and a dynamic girl, with her pet snake and her red guitar.
