Frogkisser! by Garth Nix

This story is a delightful homage to fairy tales and the tropes they've given us crossed with some wonderfully silly humor and a bit of danger. It was fun to join Anya and her companions on their journey, and to see her grow as she learned more about the larger kingdom that had fallen along with the true cost of various types of magic. Anya is clever and witty. Seeing her become and embrace being The Frogkisser was a ton of fun.
