The Suspicion at Sanditon Or, The Disappearance of Lady Denham by Carrie Bebris, Carrie Bebris

4.0

This is my second favorite book in the series (Deception at Lyme being my top favorite). In the other books, Bebris picks up where the original novel ended, but in this one she begins where Austen began—right at the beginning (adding a few things, like the Darcys’ presence) and then continuing beyond the original. The mystery in this story didn’t feel quite as strong as the one in Deception at Lyme, but I felt quite connected to the characters—and a bit more satisfied with them than I sometimes did in this series. It was a lot of fun seeing how Bebris developed the Sanditon crew and what fates she doled out to them.
