I was looking forward to reading this book since I really enjoyed the tv-series about Dirk Gently and loved all the hitchhickers books. Unfortunately, it started strong but did not keep my interest. Once Dirk is introduced (about 100 pages in), he is not the loveable, naive and fun character you know from the show. And the real deal does not do it for me.

Maybe it would have been different had I not seen the show first.
Not a bad book, but a bit ”meh”.

Maybe I’ll give the sequel a chance some time to give it a second chance, though. It’s still very Douglas Adams and fun and whimsical.
