A Murder of Crows by Sarah Yarwood-Lovett

3.0

2.5?
i had to speed up he audiobook, otherwise i might not have finished it.
there was just too much love triangle, sad privileged girl has it so hard because people judge her and internalized misogyny in this.

the mystery started off not too bad but the ending was very weak and just uninteresting. the best thing about this were definetely the bats.

half way through i wrote:
the amount of misogynistic remarks and attitudes in this is infuriating: oh no, the receptionist likes manicure. oh no, sophie's friends wear make up, drink almond milk and say "like" a lot. oh no, erin is a young woman with a crush on her coworker who doesn't like millionaires, how dare she (in this economy? we should all be like erin.
nell is so cool because she is so mistirious and she doesn't dress like other girls and she's rich but she would have made it on her own, too!! i didn't mind nell (apart from her wanting to date a detective. seriously, who dates detectives those days?) but why the hell would the author have to put so many other female characters down in comparison? people with manicured fingernails can be mysterious and smart, too, you know?
