The Vaccine Book: Making the Right Decision for Your Child
by Robert W. Sears
Really liked this book. Probably worth 4.5 stars. Only reason for the deductive is that it's not new, so I wasn't sure if anything has changed in the last 2 years. Not really Dr. Sears fault. Also, I'm sure it's one-sided and comes with a lot of opinions on why everything he says is wrong--but I actually found myself enjoying a medical book! Who knew. He wrote everything in a way that even a total medical novice could understand it. Nothing like when you go to a doctor (or a lawyer) and they tell you a bunch of jargon that you're supposed to understand, and leave totally confused, even when they try to explain it in lamen's terms. Rather, he cuts to the chase and wrote like a human, like a parent. The book tells you where the disease came from, what's in the vaccine, what are the side effects, and why people don't or do get said vaccine. I really liked the alternative vaccine schedules and hope that my doctor is on board with Dr. Bob's schedule, as the whole aluminum thing seems a bit scary and real (again, who knows, and I'll talk to my doctor more about it, but his facts seemed legit).
