The Lady in the Coppergate Tower by Nancy Campbell Allen

4.0

This was really fun. I liked this take on Rapunzel.

I loved Eugene; he was super helpful and extremely sassy and I just loved him. I wouldn't mind a 'ton of my own if it's personality matched his. I also liked how he so quickly integrated caring for Hazel into things. Granted, it was most likely due to instructions from Sam and/or monitoring his biorhythms, but still. I loved his relationship with Hazel too; Sam rolled his eyes at Eugene's antics, but Hazel usually took it in stride.

Sam and Hazel were just sweet together. I did find myself going "kiss him/her, you idiot!" a few times but will admit that interrupting 'tons were usually to blame. I liked the way Sam helped Hazel from the beginning (yes there was some protectiveness due to his feelings but still). Once he started to see that things with Marit might have been impacting her, he did his best to put things in place to protect her when she might not have been fully aware.

Dravor was definitely off from the beginning. I did like the way the original fairy tale was pulled into his relationship to Hazel and Marit. I did kind of want to learn more about his past and his various artifacts though
