3.2/5 - didnt draw me in as much as the first book in the series but! i will still be reading the third. i really enjoy that hoang doesn’t write completely helpless characters; it’s refreshing that neither the fmc or mmc depend on the other to save them.  while they might struggle with certain things, they ultimately have boundaries, are independent & grow as a character without needing to be rescued.
