This book has got to be one of the most real, raw, heartwarming and heartbreaking books that I have read. I LOVED it! Again, Angie Thomas just does an amazing job writing about black youth. I don't think I've ever been able to relate so much to YA female characters as I have with Starr and Bri. I listened to this on audiobook and the narrator was PERFECTION. I loved hearing Bri's raps and thought process that she has when she creates her freestyles or songs. One thing that I didn't like was Bri's stubbornness. At times I just wish she would have listened to the people that cared for her but I also understand her dedication and desperation in the moment that caused her not to. Overall I loved this so much and I can't wait for Angie Thomas' next release!
