I can see why people praise this book, but it didn't do anything for me. I felt complete indifference about every character which is something that rarely happens when I consume media. I can only think of one other book that made me feel this way. It was tedious and dull. Also, reading my old (now-deleted) review made me remember that I had been vegetarian for a few years until I read the phrase "vegetarian sweat" which made me feel so disgusting and dirty that I stopped being vegetarian.
