This novel hit home for me. Demon is only one year younger than me and I grew up in a small rural town in Kentucky that seen it's fair share of heartache. I, myself, a recovering addict related to Demom in many ways and had to step away from the book at times because it would bring up unresolved memories/emotions/feelings. I wish the ending gave us just a little bit more of a happier ending but overall it was a great read.
