i thought the story was good overall and good ideas about generational curses and abuse etc. well written and held my attention. but i hated hated hated the casual sexualization of children in this book. i do think it served a literary purpose and that the author was including it as a condemnation and not an endorsement, but nowadays i rate mostly on enjoyment and i did not enjoy that part at all. and i think the book would not have been lacking anything without it. so i give this 3ish stars. if not for that it would probably have been 5 or very close to it
