Living Dead in Dallas
by Charlaine Harris
Soon after Sookie's friend and coworker Lafayette was found murdered, she discovers that she and her special ability has been "loaned out" to another vampire district. She has no choice but to travel to Dallas to help locate a missing vampire. Luckily Bill is to accompany her as protection but travels separately—in his coffin via a specialty airline. After an upsetting turn of events, Sookie returns home only to find Lafayette's murder still unsolved and she wants to get to the bottom of it.
After recently reading Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series, it was a little difficult for me to get started in the vampire world of Charlaine Harris. But I'm warming up to it, and really enjoyed this story.
