I loved this-- the interplay between real events and people, and the things imagined in between. Standout lines:

"Every poem is a revolt, anything less isn't worth my time."

"We take the plunge
Under water our limbs waver, faintly green
Shuddering away,
From the genuine color of skin
Can our dreams ever blur the intransigent lines
Which draws the shape that shuts us in?"

"I've been told that my problem is that my heart is just too big. It lets in too much. I can't help but feel everything. It's overwhelming. So I put the feelings into poems. I like to think of each poem as a little room I drop into for short visits."

"Relationships are far less tangible than objects, yet they are more fragile. Many have misinterpreted my rigidness to mean that I am a solitary woman, but they are wrong. What all this has taught me is that people need people. Even people who are not good with people. Even people who are not comfortable among other people in this world."

"With it all bouncing around inside, we can't help but feel everything. The thing is, at some point, I just realized the trick wasn't to close off my heart, but to instead allow myself to feel the world in its entirety."

"Life, like death, is also poetry. An ending marks the beginning of a legacy."
