Kitchen Chinese: A Novel about Food, Family, and Finding Yourself by Ann Mah

3.0

This was a fun read for the most part but I found myself bored with the story a few times which made me put it down. It needed to move a bit more snappily and could've used more romance between the main character and her love interest which wasnt really explored. Also the chronic misunderstandings were never really brought to light just brushed over and the main character, though I found her enjoyable for the most part, was foolishly naive for her age.

Overall I enjoyed the story and most of it was very easily read. If you typically enjoy YA you might enjoy this story.
