“I wondered if this was what being a real human was: accepting you were pieces of other people too. The people you loved and the people you hurt.”

I’ve read about cannibalism before but never in the range that this book explores, it’s not a long book but it took me a while to finish because i had to take several breaks to breath and think about literally anything else or i would actually throw up. Again I don’t avoid reading about disgusting themes when they’re connected to well thought ideas to relate to the human experience but boy this was a challenge.

It was a great depiction of a coming of age story in the most horrific way, it’s about how sometimes loving someone can make you forget about your own soul, it’s about the ones that are not loved but consumed by the ones that claim to love them.

I think this one is not for everyone but if you give it a chance let me know what you think of it. It definitely left me with a weird feeling in my stomach and contemplating life for the next few days.
