i don’t even hesitate : “you”.
macy and elliot just became my favourite words…
this is my first book by christina lauren and let me tell you that i don’t think i’ll ever recover from it. i cried 7 chapters in. i cried 16 chapters in. i cried 30 chapters in. i cried when i finished it. i cried when i understood the title of the book. i basically kept crying for hours (i’m still bawling when writing this review).
this was everything i’ve ever wanted in a contemporary romance, everything i’ve ever needed.
childhood best friends to strangers to lovers ? check
seconde chance romance ? check
trust and healthy relationships ? check
amazing chemistry that gives you butterflies ? check
non-problematic characters that made me bawl ? check
the guy knowing what he wants (in this case who he wants) and being completely honest with the mc ? check
a slow burn that makes you want to throw the book across the room ? check
it was off the charts incredible and i loved it so much, i think these characters will always have a special place in my heart.
ps : i think that this books was absolutely perfect until the brother’s mariage… after that i found the ending was rushed and there wasn’t enough time to process the whole “revelation”. but i just can’t give this book anything less than a 5/5 so that’s exactly what i’m going to do.
