The Breakthrough by Daphne du Maurier

challenging mysterious reflective medium-paced

3.25

The breakthrough is a wonderful book and my first experience of Maurier. I have been wanting to read a piece of Maurier for quite some time just now and decided on a whim to pick this up and I can say it didn't disappoint.

I was surprised at the philosophical conundrum presented and how it handled the manner.

Despite not a great amount happening, a lot happened. It's definitely a weird read that I feel could have both been 20 pages shorter but also 200 pages longer.

This isn't my favourite read but it definitely makes me excited to read more of her works in future
