Anne of the Island by L.M. Montgomery

4.0

What keeps these from being 5 stars, or this one specifically, is the fact that once the conversation about feelings comes round, it seems very short and almost blunt? Like I need more interactions between Anne and Gilbert...you get longer ones with her friends (I love them so, especially Pris Grant). It's almost like Montgomery wasn't super comfortable with the romantic prose and dialogue, but good with the rest.
