Lenin for Beginners by Oscar Zárate, Richard Appignanesi

2.0

Yes, there are lots of cartoons and not so much text, but this is not really so good "for beginners." The book is a victim of its own ambition, sacrificing depth for breadth, introducing way too many historical figures and way too much minute detail. Ironically, all this "authenticity" obscures the narrative. One is left with little sense of who Lenin was or why he matters.
