vgrimme 's review for:
Ashes of Midnight
by Lara Adrian
Got this one at a swap, and haven't read the others in the series. The book was OK. Not especially sexy, characters not very compelling. I am surprised by how much the plot of this series resembles Black Dagger Brotherhood. Group of warrior vampires, sharing a home, fighting a series of battles against a long-time enemy, each book focusing on a single pair romance. BDB is raunchier and sexier, but this series doesn't have the annoying lazy name-dropping pop culture stuff (Ed Hardy, Sig Sauer, etc) that makes BDB seem stupid and dated. I think I will try others in the series to give Adrian a chance to impress me.
