In the Shadow Garden by Liz Parker

4.0

Family secrets. Lies. Mystery. Forgotten memories.

Not all is at it seems in Yarrow with the two prominent families - the Bonners and the Haywoods.

This is told from multiple POVs which could be a bit confusing at times and I enjoyed Addison’s the most. I enjoyed the family dynamic as they work to discover forgotten memories from 20 years ago. What happened? What is being covered up? This story keeps you guessing until the end.

The Shadow Garden was a character in itself and I loved how it was written. The garden takes heartbreak and trauma and grows beautiful plants which is such a lovely metaphor and imagery for healing trauma within oneself. Beauty can blossom from the unexpected.

If you’re a fan of Practical Magic, you should enjoy this one.
