challenging dark tense fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

The first two pages was all it took to make it clear this was written by a sci-fi man. A woman gave birth and her concerns were:
1. if she was shitting
2. that she was fat and unattractive
3. to not show any pain
ALL WHILE GIVING BIRTH to a horned baby. Who's little horns must have changed her. After that she got up, kept cracking jokes and walked it off. As you do. After giving birth. LMFAO

So yeah. I was hooked by the cool art, the plot is pretty mediocre and the lines are full of profanity (and I'm not even American! I like profanity!) and not bad ass as the single panel is. Alana would have still been cool if she didn't talk like a pick-me-girl and if birth actually took a bit of effort for her. I don't know why people think sex scenes, brothels, gore and people sitting on toilets makes a good story but I guess there has to be a market for this. I'm not the target audience in that case.

Anyway, the art is amazing. The story is ok. The birth scene is hilariously bad. Maybe I'll give book two a chance, unless the other pregnant character also gets such a birth scene.
