Aaaaaagh. WHY DID I THINK I COULD TRUST SNICKET WITH A PREQUEL!?
It was enjoyable. It was. Snicket's writing quality remains high, and his humor is impeccable. As a librarian, I was also so happy with how high in regard librarians are held in this book. But the ending....
I TRUSTED YOU, SNICKET!
If you've read "A Series of Unfortunate Events" all the way through, you may be prepared. If not, just...finish this and come back to commiserate. There's nothing like being just a little mad at Snicket.
