This isn’t the right book for me - I was fairly turned off by a lot of the more old fashioned tropes and attitudes toward women (serious Madonna vs Whore dichotomy going on here, and how does everybody get pregnant immediately and also immediately know it? ) and some of the later revelations at the end of the book were just…gross. It is a good adventure story, and if you’re in the market for a literary mystery it definitely delivers. One last spoiler-y comment: this is just phantom of the opera but with books
Graphic: Violence, Police brutality
