Sisters Under the Rising Sun: A Powerful Story from the Author of The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris

3.0

Positivity when times are hard. I think readers of other books like The Tattoist of Auswitz and others will appreciate this book. There were times when the positivity in spite of the misery seemed a bit unbelievable. Some of the characters came across a bit flat.
It was ok, but somehow I was not so emotionally invested in the story. This could be as I had no past knowledge of the internment camps of the Japanese and civilians of the allies or just the story was not easy to connect with.
Did feel somewhat along the lines of the slogan keep strong and carry on…
