The Rabbit Girls by Anna Ellory
3.0

I chose this as my Amazon First Read for August. I love historical fiction novels about WWII and the holocaust, yet this one fell a little flat. Miriam’s story and abusive relationship with her husband seemed out of left field and added nothing to the story. And while I loved reading the letters from Freida, I felt like they were unbelievably long and contained to much detail for a person trying to get information out of a concentration camp. I guessed the “plot twist” about half way through the book, but kept reading to see how it all tied together. I gave it 3 stars because I couldn’t put it down, but there was so much extraneous information that detracted from the story, and really made no sense. If you are expecting a book about the Rabbit Girls you will be left disappointed!
