Lights Out follows trauma nurse Aly who is obsessed with a masked creator online who creates thirst trap videos. When she asks her current hook up if they could try it, she finds herself being stalked by the masked creator who she has been obsessing over. Josh creates the masked thirst trap and when his best friend shows him his ex-hook ups interest in his account, Josh finds himself suddenly needing to know more about her.

I've never laughed so freaking hard in a book before. There was times where I was wheezing when I was listening to this book on my commute every day and a few times where I had to pause the audiobook to laugh. I saw online several people say that the audiobook was the way to go with this book and I could not agree more. The narrator, Jacob Morgan's, delivery of his lines was so funny I was losing it. I also loved Elena Wolfe's narration as she really added to the character of Aly. This audiobook is also dual narration where they say their own lines instead of them switching off chapters.
This book does deal with so much more throughout it. As Aly is a trauma nurse, we see some pretty horrific situations that she has to deal with and she finds a lot of solace in Josh's video's online. She's super smart and really interesting to follow especially when we meet part of her extended family. I also really loved Josh as a main character. Not only was he super funny but he also had a lot of heart to him. He's someone who has a very traumatic past concerning his father and he does every thing he can to keep those he loves safe. I really adored him as a male main character.
Now, while there is a semi-ridiculous thing that happens in this book (that I won't spoil) I thought it was super funny seeing how these two dealt with it. I really loved their banter and watching their relationship grow. Although it definitely started off as lust they really grew to love and appreciate each other in the best way possible.
I cannot wait for Caught Up to come out because this book was fantastic and one of my favorite books I've read. If you can handle the trigger warnings and want a dark but funny romance book pick this up.
