I had high hopes for this audiobook, but unfortunately, it didn't quite meet my expectations. I last listened to second book in this series in 2023 and had since forgotten much of it, which made it challenging for me to get into this new book. As a result, I was unable to finish it.
I managed to get through the first 3 and a half hours of the audiobook, but I found the pacing to be quite slow. The story took a long time to build up, and I struggled to stay engaged with the plot and characters. The slow start made it difficult for me to become invested in the story.
One particular aspect that didn't work for me was the use of an amnesia trope. I generally don't enjoy stories that revolve around characters with memory loss, and this book was no exception. The amnesia trope made it even harder for me to connect with the characters and their experiences.
If you have read and enjoyed the others then you might like this one since it is the end of this series.
