Barbarian's Taming by Ruby Dixon

4.0

One of my favourite series to read to break a reading slump is The Ice Planet Barbarians! My ultimate guilty pleasures are these blue dudes and their human mates. By reading each book as soon as its special edition cover is revealed, I have been slowly making my way through this series. The latest being Babraians Taming. I'm only halfway through this series, but with over ten books to go, I'm curious where the plot will lead. I cherish these books, but they have kind of started to have a pattern. I think the earthquake was an excellent decision by Ruby. Although I am truly sorry for Not-Hoth's inhabitants and feel for them, I am delighted that something unexpected happened to change the course of the narrative. I can see now that this series has the potential to last a long time while continuing to be unpredictable. Although I adored the romance, I think the real plot of the book, which isn't quite there in the previous books, was what made it so compelling. Hassen and Maddie made for a really entertaining couple. Maddie doesn't hesitate to speak her mind. I actually kind of appreciate how she just says whatever is on her mind. Hassen and Maddie made a compatible couple, and I'm eager to read the books that follow!
