Beautiful writing! I watched the film adaptation first, which prompted me to read the novel and boy was I not disappointed. I loved how I was able to further understand what goes on in Elio’s mind, giving me fresh insight to his character. While I really enjoyed reading this book, it was a bit of a challenge because of the lack of quotation marks. Oftentimes I’d find myself questioning if it was part of a conversation between two characters or merely Elio’s narration. However, I could understand the choice of not including the quotation marks because the book contains the thoughts that cross Elio’s mind.

Overall, I enjoyed reading the book ><. But if anyone were to read it, I suppose I should warn you that some parts of the book are kind of disturbing.
