This book was fabulous! Reading it was so fun! Definitely my favorite in the series. I feel like almost everything transpired beautifully and the ending was very fitting! I almost teared up sometimes.😅
You kind of have to suspend your disbelief a little bit, because Logan's character kinda just flips a switch in the beginning. Like when he finds out initially he lashes out at Lana and has angry sex with her and handcuffs her to a bed because he's just so freaking upset. At that point, he believed that she was a proxy killer and then when he finds out she's actually Victoria Evans and she actually has a connection to the small town he just flips a switch, and all of a sudden his anger dissolves because he finds out Lana's not a proxy killer as if that supposed to make a difference or something; she's still killing people dude.🤣 I don't know. I don't feel like the author executed that part well.
But overall, I still enjoyed this book. I loved the twist. I wasn't expecting the killer to be Jake's dad. Now THAT was crazy! I was trying to wrack my brain trying to come up with who it was. Love the turns! And Logan and Lana's relationship SERVED in this book. It finally hit me (well, it hit in the last book too, but it really HIT in this book). I loved them after he found out that she was Victoria. He just finally stepped up to me and their love for each other finaly felt balanced out to me because everything was out in the open. Also, again, I absolutely ADORE Lana and Jake's friendship. It's literally the cornerstone of all the books and I love it and love them! Hadley and Jake were a nice surprise. I wasn't a fan of Hadley's character until this book and weirdly enough (as abrupt as it was) I really liked her dynamic with Jake. Again, really enjoyed this book! I think it ended appropriately! (I know the books were short but I don't know after reading the five it feels so weird to leave these characters; I'm gonna miss Lana) Also, I never mentioned this in my other reviews, but I like how much of a horror movie buff Lana is (as someone who loves horror movies, I found the references cool)
Spice Rating: 🌶️🌶️/5
Note: So sad to hear about what happened to the author!🤧
