Not quite my cup of tea. This was an example of fake dating gone bad. Up until the end I couldn’t understand why they were pretending to fake date when they were obviously very much into one another and there was nothing preventing them from dating for real. It was all fabricated but unnecessary drama
The mfc and her best friend are too much of a doormat for my liking. Who, in their right mind, will tolerate this much abuse at work. There are labor laws. I detest when a person’s perception of herself and/or her self worth is contingent on how others define her. Theo knew that Jessica was a self serving, vengeful and toxic person yet she allowed her to not only belittle her but took some of her venomous words to heart. That the only way she feels good about herself is with Sully’s love and acceptance. It’s all so tragic.
The scene where (without his consent or knowledge), she went through his room, his belongings, and worst yet she got herself off in his bed was very creepy.
The writing is a bit amateurish. The word choices and phrasing are a bit off, if not corny.
The end with that party was awful. It felt like being back in high school dealing with the mean kids. It was just too juvenile for me. I still don’t understand what was Jessica’s goal for having all of Theo’s and Sully’s high school peers over. Other than the prom date, nothing came of it.
I appreciate the fact that the story tackled some interesting subject matters such as the aftermath of losing a loved one, alcoholism, bullying, etc. I also appreciate the fact that there is a happy ending
