‘Devotion’ is a lyrical love story that follows Hanne from Prussia to Australia in 1863 and the blossoming love she has for Thea. Hannah Kent’s use of nature, synethesia and religion to describe Hanne’s love for Thea and her own journey of self discovery is utterly divine.
