Illicit Temptations by Katee Robert

3.0

The Good, The Bad and The Yes Please: This might be your kind of read if you are into overprotective MMC, pregnancy tropes, forced proximity, workplace romance with grumpy/ sunshine and fun steamy romance. This is a two stories in one book publication. Make Me Yours: This book is absolutely not messing around; there’s no slow burn for our lovers to start. Becka meets Aaron at her sister’s wedding and they are intensely and wildly attracted to each other within the first few pages. Now, obviously that wouldn’t make for a good story so while the fire was absolutely burning, it was meant to be only a one night stand for Becka, who was used to dealing with her emotions through meaningless sex. Enter a standard (but well written) pregnancy trope, a bit of a controlling MMC and a lot of emotional turmoil. Make Me Need: The second part, kicks off fast as well with Aaron’s younger sister Trish taking a job at his security firm and if you love a good grumpy/sunshine, brothers best friend trope, then this one is for you, because immediately that’s where this book barrels into. It’s cute, has good spice and we love a good overprotective MMC. I’m not going to lie, this is the first Katee Robert’s book I’ve read, even though I have some on my bookshelf and even more in my TBR, but that will be changing. I’m typically a dark romance reader so this was definitely a change, but it was a smooth read and it was a good breather for something light. A big thank you to NetGalley, Katee Roberts and Harlequin for allowing me to have an e-ARC for this book in exchange for an honest review.
