The Cowboy's Baby Agreement
by Leslie North
I always thoughtfully write hook reviews. Reading is so subjective. What works for one reader might resonate with another. So, it's very unusual for me to say the following: This book is really terrible.
The plot is so ridiculously implausible that it's hard to read. There are about a gazillion (that's a really technical mathematical term) plot holes and unanswered questions. This heroine is still hurt and traumatized over something that happened to her 10 years ago in high school with the hero. When we finally find out what this big trauma was it's completely stupid.
There is zero chemistry between the main characters and we get no sense as to why they are even attracted to each other. Their shared history seems to have all occurred on one day in high school. Then, the relationship we read about is built over the course of a few days in a cabin in which they talk about pretty much nothing of consequence.
It's all so far-fetched and the story is so patchy that I did not care one bit about these characters. This book just makes no sense.
I received an ARC of this title from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
