Sisters by Raina Telgemeier
4.0
Status: Committed to Telgemeier's books #foreverinlove
Telgemeier's books are always a delight through clean, cartoonish drawing style and goofy storytelling. I find myself always comparing my reading experience to my first Telgemeier comic, Smile. Though, I was not disappointed with this companion piece to my Telgemeier favorite!
Sisters is a fun, enjoyable read with the perfect blend of humor, zany characters and story events, and cartoonish drawings. It will appeal to younger teens, as they may relate to the sibling relationship in the story. Imagine being the only child and now "blessed" with a new sibling of yours? Imagine being stuck in the car for hours and hours and hours with your siblings? Sound like fun, right?
Actually, it's interesting how Raina deals with her sister, and how much she wants to be involved in her sister's life, while her sister is more independent and develops different interests. In the end, they're still Sisters, and the conclusion of the story leaves the reader with a feeling of warmth and love.
