What to Say When You Talk to Yourself - Updated
by Shad Helmstetter
This book is genuinely helpful. I have read and watched The Secret in the past, and while that has introduced me to the idea of positive self-talk, I feel that it did not provide proper explanation or easy exercises to implement in daily life. This book is backed my science and statistics to educate on the topic of self-talk. I listened to the audiobook, which also included mini interviews with the author (very helpful). I feel as if I can implement some of the ideas and exercises into my life. Just since listening to the book, I feel my perspective and awareness of my thoughts has drastically improved, which is one of the first steps to change. This book gets 5 stars for the neuroscience, statistics, examples, and layman’s terms to help educate and influence my willingness and understandings. In short, I loved it and think everyone should read or listen! Our thoughts impact everything. It is our jobs to clean our minds and create a happy and positive space to live in everyday. Repetition is key. If you don’t believe it now, you will one day - just keep talking positively.
