Cards on the Table
by Agatha Christie
Another masterpiece by Agatha Christie. At every stage of the plot, suspicion is cast on one of the suspects. Just as the reader begins to affirm one's opinion of the murderer, a twist in the tale forces one to rethink matters. Repeatedly, throughout the story we are made aware of the fact that "The least likely suspect is the most likely murderer" and the tale is woven until the very end. As always the justifications were plausible and the writing skillful as ever. A thoroughly enjoyable read.
