Did not finish book. Stopped at 13%.
I tried. I really fucking tried. But, this book was garbage. It was so slow and boring and it talked of magic yet there was hardly any magic!
I like older books. I appreciate the works of Jane Austen and Charles Dickens, and I understand the author was writing in this way. But, it did not compute well at all. And, I love a great, fat book, but not when there is no need in it being so long.
Between the footnotes that were an entire page long and the excruciatingly long descriptions of unimportant characters….I had to give up. Life is too short to read such exhausting books.
