Ten Arrows of Iron by Sam Sykes

5.0

Started out w the same thoughts as before. It seems overly edgy, albeit funny as well. However, it grows on me, and the story is insane and cool. It's like berserk; she's getting revenge from those who wronger her terribly, and trying to protect someone makes her struggle between revenge and letting go for those you love. The plot is ripe with twists, betrayals, etc. Destruction follows as if she's Vash the Stampede, but actually a killer instead of pacifist. I root for her and Liette. The magic system is fascinating, the world politics as well, and the Eldest/Wisest/Strongest Scrath things make me wonder what's happen next. Seems like her list, revenge, isn't most important anymore. Like Guts, saving Casca/Liette will become the focus. Sal has even come to rely on a group, despite being a loner in nature. By the end, I'm heavily invested in the twins, in Agne, and even Meret. Excited for the next book in the series.
