Paddle Your Own Canoe: One Man's Fundamentals for Delicious Living by Nick Offerman

2.0

So this book is part memoir, part "life advice" and part ranting to the choir about various political/social issues. The memoir stuff? Great! A+! Should have been 100% of the book and marketed as such. The life advice, which I thought was going to be the focus of the book (one mans guide to delicious living?) actually is a very small part of the book and feels tacked on. And then the rants... Oof. Despite agreeing with him mostly, he goes about these in kind of a pretentious, hipster-y way that ends up feeling hollow, simplistic and unnecessary. I will say switching to the self-narrated audiobook halfway through was a major improvement.
