Falling for Your Brother's Best Friend by Emma St. Clair

4.0

The holidays may be over, but the joy doesn't have to end! This delightful post-Christmas romcom from Emma St. Clair is a short, hilarious, and heartwarming read that is perfect for a cozy winter afternoon in January!

I loved getting to return to Emma St. Clair’s beloved Love Cliches series with Chelsea and Mason’s story. This book read as a standalone but offered some fun behind the scenes content and cameo appearances for the other books in the series.

When Chelsea finds herself sharing her brother’s empty apartment with her brother’s best friend Mason, the man she’s crushed on for years, things take a wild turn with the close proximity and big feelings. I thought the meddlesome brother angle was pretty cute, and I enjoyed Chelsea and her awkward self. She was a relatable heroine with a fun, goofy side that made me smile. Her dates and Mason’s reactions had me laughing out loud on several occasions and I loved how the passion and romance amped up at the end, with no third act breakup!

If you’re looking for a lighthearted, funny, wholesome read, I think you’ll enjoy this novella. It’s a great addition to the series and definitely a feel-good read to kick off the new year!

Content and Trigger Warnings: G (kissing only). Light: death of parent, addiction in family.
